  3. Women's Day 2018 - District Level Celebration at Satara district

    Inspired by the success of the first International Women’s Day celebration held in Maharashtra in 2017, International Women’s Day was celebrated all over the state on March 8, 2018 with joy and enthusiasm at Satara district in Maharashtra. Events such as public rallies, women’s march, sports and various cultural programmes were organized in order to educate and create awareness among all female voters, young and old alike, in Satara as well across various districts in Maharashtra.

    In addition to senior officials and functionaries, some of the youth icons and dignitaries present on the dais were as follows: -
    Smt. Rahi Sarnobat, Indian shooter, who won the Bronze medal in the 25-meter pistol team event at the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon; Smt. Lalita Babar, noted international athlete; Smt. Shweta Shinde, noted actress and director in the Marathi film industry; Smt. Snehal Kadam, swimmer and Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Competition awardee; Smt. Ruchira Lavand, rifle shooter and Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Competition awardee

SVEEP is designed according to the socio-economic, cultural and demographic profile of the state as well as the history of electoral participation in previous rounds of elections and learning thereof.
