    Information, Motivation & Facilitation

SVEEP has grown into a strategic, scientific, systematic and synergistic initiative through a dedicated leadership and teamwork. The core underlying principle of SVEEP lies in the three-pronged strategy of -

information.jpgThe first step of our strategy is to create awareness about the electoral process. For this purpose, voter edutainment material, electronic & print media messages are created, songs and other creative products are developed and disseminated. State Government functionaries, Booth Level Officers & Campus Ambassadors also conduct group and inter-personal conversations with target population.

After assessing the electoral participation trends during previous electoral cycles in a specific region through the situation and gap analysis, SVEEP plans are chalked out and implemented through the Chief Electoral Officers in the States and Union Territories and the District Election Officers in the Districts. Targeted interventions are implemented thereafter, and initiatives strengthened with partnerships and collaborations.

motivation.jpgOnce the voters’ are aware about how, when, where, why and what of the electoral process, it is important that they realize the value of their vote and participate on elections day. Hence electors are motivated through physical events, persuasive messages by national & regional icons, mass mobilization activities, sports events & pledge letters.

facilitation.jpgOur duty doesn’t end at creating awareness and motivating voters. SVEEP tries to help the electors on every step, right from registration until poll day. Model polling stations, voter facilitation centers, helplines, SMS alerts, online registration, national name search facility, voter-friendly & interactive websites, special camps & campaigns for registration are ways through which we facilitate the electors.

    Strategy

Over the years, witnessing multiple elections and analyzing region-specific electoral participation trends during electoral cycles have helped SVEEP identify major participation gaps.  Keeping these gaps in mind, SVEEP plans are chalked out and implemented by the Chief Electoral Officers in the States and Union Territories and the District Election Officers in the Districts. Targeted interventions are implemented thereafter, and initiatives strengthened with partnerships and collaborations. Since these gaps vary across regions and are subject to change, research surveys are carried from time to time before and after every election.
