SVEEP Activities for the year 2022-2023 Updated
Sikkim begins its SVEEP activities for ELCs in the State for the year 2022- 2023
Mock election is a great activity to impart knowledge and hands-on experience to the ELC Members, it encourages them to be participative and inculcates a sense of pride and responsibility especially in the future voters and new voters.
with this motive a SVEEP drive to conduct Mock Election in all ELCs of the state has been initiated by the office of the CEO Sikkim. The following Government School from Mangan district conducted the mock election for their ELC members on month of May 2022.

Conducting of Mock Election under Pakyong District Updated
Report on Revival of Electoral Literary Club (ELC)
A short programme on revival of Electoral Literary Club (ELC) was held at following Govt. Sec. School on the month of May 2022, under Pakyong District. The main motive was to engage students through activities and facilitating hands on experience to sensitize them on electoral rights and familiarize them with the electoral process of registration and voting. A session on mock election for electing leader for ELC council was conducted.

STATE LEVEL QUIZ COMPETITION ON ELECTORAL PROCESSES Updated
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim, in a bid to encourage young eligible voters to come forward and register themselves in the Electoral Roll and to generate awareness regarding electoral processes, conceptualised the Quiz on Electoral processes as a SVEEP initiative for Electoral Literacy Clubs. (ELCs) on 30.Nov.2022. The main motive of the Quiz competition was to generate awareness regarding registration processes and to motivate all young eligible voters to register themselves during the ongoing Special Summary Revision, w.r.t.1.1.2023 as qualifying date. A total of 17 colleges throughout the state participated in the Quiz. The Quiz was held in two levels, the first was intra- district ELC College level which was held in all six districts of the State w.e.f 17.11.2022 to 28.11.2022. Winners of the Intra- district level processed for the State level final, where the quiz competition was inter- district level. The State Final of Quiz on electoral processes was conducted on 30.11.2022 in the Conference hall of the Office, here at Balwakhani Gangtok. The quiz was conducted by Quiz master Dr. Bibeth Sharma from Sikkim Manipal University.
The following colleges represented their districts:
1. Gangtok: Nar Bahadur Bhandari Govt Degree College
2. Namchi: Sikkim Government College, Kamrang
3. Soreong: B.Ed College, Soreng
4. Gyalshing:Sikkim Government College, Gyalshing
5. Mangan: Sikkim Government College, Mangshila
6. Pakyong: Sikkim Government College, Rhencok
The winner of the quiz competition at the State finale were:

Some Glimpses of the Launch of Special Summary Revision w.r.t 01.01.2023 as qualifying date. Updated
Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Roll for Sikkim with reference to January 1, 2023, as the qualifying date as part of the nationwide electoral roll revision, was launched at the Auditorium of Nar Bahadur Bhandari Degree College, Tadong, on 09.Nov.2022The Chief Electoral Officer Shri. D. Anandan declared the launch of Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2023, in the presence of Electoral Roll Observers Shri. Anil Raj Rai, Secretary Land Revenue Department and Smt. Roshni Rai, Special Secretary, Urban Development Department.
This was followed by the screening of a demo video on Voter Helpline App. The Mobile Application is built to take forward the effort to build an active democratic citizenry in the country. It is the initiative of the Election Commission of India, which aims to provide a single point of service and information delivery to voters across the country.
Awareness videos prepared by the Election Department on the State Icons Padmashree Awardee Ms. Draupadi Ghimirey, Dronacharya Awardee Smt. Sandhya Gurung and PwD State Icon Shri. Bikram Bhattarai, urging voters to exercise their franchise was also screened.
Later, soft copy of the Integrated Draft Roll was handed over to the representatives of recognised political parties.

SVEEP 2023 Updated
Open Election Quiz 2023 organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim in association with Inner Wheel Club of Gangtok on 22nd November, 2023 at Nar Bahadur Bhandari Government College, Tadong college auditorium.
The main purpose of the event was to make aware of the ongoing Special Summary Revision 2024 which started from 17th October 2023 till 9th December 2023

6th Sikkim Run-No Voter To Be Left Behind (31.Oct.2021) Updated
The 6th edition of Sikkim Run was held on 31st Oct 2021 at Gangtok which was organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim in collaboration with Service to Mankind Group(a local NGO), the theme of the Sikkim Run was "No voter to be left Behind" ,
Justice A.P Subba, Chairperson, Law Commission and Lokayukta graced the event as Chief Guest in presence of Mrs. Pema Lhaden Lama(Joint CEO ), Mr. Kiran Rasaily(Retired Secretary) and Padmashree Draupadi Ghimiray(State Icon). More than 400 runners had participated in the marathon which included runners from Darjeeling, Kurseung, Uttarakhand, Utter Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Kolkata, Mumbai, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Nepal. Mrs. Pema Lhaden Lama, Joint CEO , during her speech, informed the gathering about the various activities which will be undertaken during the Special Summary Revision 2022 starting from 1st Nov 2021 to 30th Nov 2021. She urged all the new eligible voters to register themselves. Lastly, the winners and participants of the marathon were felicitated with cash prizes and medals during the award distribution ceremony by the Chief Guest. The event was a grand success with participants informing the media that they would be looking forward to such events in the future.- 14
