A two-day National Conference of SVEEP Nodal Officers was organized by the Election Commission of India on June 10-11, 2019 at TERI Retreat in Gurugram to review the strategy and implementation of outreach programmes during Lok Sabha Elections 2019 and to chalk out the blueprint for the next 5 years.
ECI organized a workshop for Radio Jockeys (RJs) of leading FM channels including All India Radio and various private FM channels on 21st January in New Delhi. Total 19 Radio jockeys from major FM channels viz. Big FM, Red FM, Fever 104 FM, Radio Nasha, Ishq FM and Radio City attended 2 hours interactive session, where they participated in activities for dissemination of voter education.
VAF was launched by Commission on 16th January 2019 at Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra, New Delhi. Senior Officers from 44 Ministries and Federations, CII and FICCI were briefed. Simultaneously VAFs have been launched by CEOs and DEOs across the country.
District Collector took the unique initiative of celebrating the Rakhsabandhan festival on 26th August 2018 by tying Rakhis on the hands of Senior Citizens and Leprosy patients which said, “Main Vote Doonga”. This received an emotional and widespread response from the citizens and media alike for the unique thought to ensure no section of the society is left behind.
A unique initiative wherein a rally was organised from each of the 9 blocks carrying mashal (flame) which culminated in the Raigarh city centre. From there all the teams enthusistically led by the District Collector and Superidentent of Police, walked up to the Raigarh stadium and lit the main Mashal. This Mashal represented The Light of Democracy which stands tall and bright by the efforts of each citizen and symbolises pride.
The Election Commission of India organised the National Consultation on Accessible Elections on the 3rd and 4th of July 2018 with the aim of inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the electoral process.
The sixth celebration of NVD and Election Commission of India started the NVD celebration with ‘Matdata Mahotsav’ (Grand Celebrations of the voter). Matdata Mahotsav, a four-day gala event (14th January to 17th January 2016) was organized at Central Park, Connaught Place - the heart of Delhi. The event showcased an exhibition of best practices from different states of India, other countries & partners of ECI along with a display on preparations & processes carried out by the ECI to bring the ballot to the people. Moreover, music and dance, street plays and games, debates and discussions, quizzes and contests as well as performances by the states and ECI state icons filled the air with celebration.
Matdata Mahotsav, a tribute by the ECI to the enlightened voter of our nation, was a grand success and paved way for NVD celebration on 25th January 2016.
