The most significant feature of the electoral process is Universal Adult suffrage, meaning that every adult citizen of the country has the right to vote. A strong democracy is the one where everyone participates. Our motto, ‘No voter to be left behind’ expresses this need of inclusive participation in elections. In this connection, inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) is an important area of focus for the Commission.

‘Accessible Elections’ is the theme that was adopted for the National Voters' Day 2018 by the Election Commission of India. Presently interventions are being planned to augment the aspects of facilitation for PwDs.

The first step in the electoral process is getting registered as voter by filling Form6 . This is also the first step towards the identification of PwDs and their subsequent inclusion and facilitation.

Persons with Disabilities can now help us create a smoother elections experience by letting us know about their disability via Form 6.
