The Elections Department, Puducherry has launched a “Bike Voter Registration/Awareness Campaign – BiVAC” on 22.09.2018 (Saturday), at 10.30 a.m., Gandhi Thidal, Beach Road. The “BiVAC” is a novel concept in the UT of Puducherry implemented, as a part of SVEEP initiatives. BiVAC is a street-to-street campaign by Student volunteers from various colleges of Kanchi MaMunivar Centre for Post Graduate Studies, Sri Manakular Vinayaga Engineering College, Mothilal Nehru Government Polytechnic College and Christ Institute of Technology. The Students would move around the constituency on bike with public address systems. They aired the significance of holding a voter identity card and how to get it. The campaign employs local vernacular to reach a larger audience . BiVAC is to encompass the grassroots of the society to sensitise them regarding the importance of getting registered as a voter, which is made easy via the on-going Special Summary Revision 2019.
