Inspired by the success of the first International Women’s Day celebration held in Maharashtra in 2017, International Women’s Day was celebrated all over the state on March 8, 2018 with joy and enthusiasm at Satara district in Maharashtra. Events such as public rallies, women’s march, sports and various cultural programmes were organized in order to educate and create awareness among all female voters, young and old alike, in Satara as well across various districts in Maharashtra.   8. National Voters’ Day was celebrated all over Maharashtra on 25th January 2018 with joy and enthusiasm. Various programmes such as public rallies, drawing competitions, sports and various cultural programmes were organized in order to educate and create awareness among young voters. In order to reach out to the voters in the remote and tribal area, it was decided to organize the 8th State level National Voters’ Day at Nandurbar district in Maharashtra. Nandurbar is a tribal district situated in the northwest corner (Khandesh Region) of Maharashtra in India. It is also the first district of Maharashtra on electoral map.

SVEEPSystematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) is a programme of multi interventions through different modes and media designed to educate citizens, electors and voters about the electoral process in order to increase their awareness and participation in the electoral processes. SVEEP is designed according to the socio-economic, cultural and demographic profile of the state as well as the history of electoral participation in previous rounds of elections and learning thereof.
