VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) is an independent machine attached to the EVM (Electronic Voting Machine), that allows electors to verify that their vote goes to the candidate and the party of their choice. How to cast your vote using EVM and VVPAT? Press the blue button on the Ballot Unit (BU) against the name and symbol of the candidate of your choice. Look for the transparent window in the VVPAT, showcasing a paper slip which shows the serial no, name and symbol of the candidate of your choice. The paper slip is shown for 7 seconds, then gets cut off and is dropped in the drop box of the VVPAT. VVPAT, is therefore, a revolution in the electoral world.
